What is Janteburn?Janteburn, inspired by the iconic Burning Man Festival in the U.S., marks a first for Norway, blending a vibrant music festival with a profound cultural expression. Highlighting the event is the symbolic burning of a wooden statue representing Janteloven, ignited by the victor of the challenging 100 KM cross-country professional race. In a ceremonial tradition, the torch is passed from the previous year's champion to the new winner. This year, unless he triumphs again, Petter Northug Jr. will have the honor of passing the torch to a new champion. Surrounding the centerpiece burning ceremony, attendees will be treated to a rich tapestry of music, with performances by a diverse lineup of artists, enhancing the experience both before and after the burn.
