Driving There is ample free car parking space in and around Mosetertoppen Skistadion and around Hafjell Gondoltoppen. Train The closest train station is 🚊Lillehammer Train Station (📍Google maps link) The regional train service between Oslo and Lillehammer offers 12 –18 daily departures, and 2 – 6 daily departures northbound in Gudbrandsdalen – towards Åndalsnes and Trondheim. You can view time table and book your journey VY (link to VY website) To get to Mosetertoppen Ski Stadium and Hafjell Gondoltoppen, we sugget to use the Gondol service that takes you from Lillehammer train station right to the event location. Janteburn, inspired by the iconic Burning Man Festival in the U.S., marks a first for Norway, blending a vibrant music festival with a profound cultural expression. Highlighting the event is the symbolic burning of a wooden statue representing Janteloven, ignited by the victor of the challenging 100 KM cross-country professional race. In a ceremonial tradition, the torch is passed from the previous year's champion to the new winner. This year, unless he triumphs again, Petter Northug Jr. will have the honor of passing the torch to a new champion. Surrounding the centerpiece burning ceremony, attendees will be treated to a rich tapestry of music, with performances by a diverse lineup of artists, enhancing the experience both before and after the burn. ​

"Afterburn" is the exhilarating official after-party of the Janteburn festival and Janteloppet ski festival. Afterburn extends the party into the early hours of the morning, featuring an eclectic mix of DJs and live performances. You can expect a vibrant atmosphere, where the excitement of the day's events transitions into an unforgettable night of dancing, socializing, and revelry.

The Norwegian Ski Federations rules and regulations for cross-country competitions apply throughout Janteloppet. The race is in free technique Participants not abiding by these rules, may be disqualified. FIS has prohibited any products containing C8 fluorocarbons/PFOA at all FIS events from season 2021/2022 onwards, in line with the EU Regulation 2019/1021 (“POP-regulation”) and EC Regulation 1907/2006 („REACH“-regulation), which regulate the handling of fluorinated waxes (FIS, 2021). The BIB must be visible at all times during the race. It is forbidden to wear another participants BIB. Identification must be provided in case of random control. Littering along the course is not allowed. Please bring your own litter to the nearest food station or use the drop zones along the course. If the jury decides that the weather conditions makes the race too dangerous to attend, Janteloppet holds the right to cancel or postpone the event at short notice.

Any participant that is not a members of the Norwegian National Insurance will need to sign an Athletes Declaration for the race they are registered for. If you have not approved the Athletes Declaration form in advance you will need to sign it when picking up your race packet.

The 100K race in Janteloppet is a nordic classic technique only race. Participants not abiding by these rules, may be disqualified. FIS has prohibited any products containing C8 fluorocarbons/PFOA at all FIS events from season 2021/2022 onwards, in line with the EU Regulation 2019/1021 (“POP-regulation”) and EC Regulation 1907/2006 („REACH“-regulation), which regulate the handling of fluorinated waxes (FIS, 2021). Any protest must be in writing, and a fee of Norwegian kroner 300,- must be paid when handing in the protest. Deliver the protest directly in the race office. If the jury decides that the weather conditions makes the race too dangerous to attend, Janteloppet holds the right to cancel or postpone the event at short notice.
