Janteloppet Alliansen: A Powerful Push for the Grassroots of Cross-Country Skiing

Cross-country skiing is one of our most cherished national sports. Yet today, many ski clubs face a challenging reality, with pressure on finances, volunteer capacity, and recruitment. If the sport is to grow, we need to build from the ground up. That’s where the Janteloppet Alliance comes in.

The Janteloppet Alliance is a new initiative to strengthen the grassroots of Norwegian cross-country skiing. This is more than a partnership, it’s a community. A community for clubs that want to create activity, engage their members, and build their club finances in a simple and sustainable way.

When a club joins the Janteloppet Alliance, they receive a unique discount code offering 15% off all Janteloppet tickets. For every ticket sold using the code, 10% goes directly back to the club.

Bonus: If the club sells more than 40 tickets, they receive an extra bonus of 5,000 NOK.

We know that club leaders and parent coaches already have their hands full. That’s why we’ve made it easy. Clubs get access to ready-made images, videos, and copy that can be shared across all their channels, from social media and websites to newsletters and bulletin boards. The goal is to save time and create maximum impact.

Janteloppet is an arena for both elite and . But we know that recruitment starts in the clubs. When we see 13-year-olds choosing cross-country over indoor sports, or entire families lining up at the start line together, we see the true power of the sport. And that’s a power worth nurturing.

The goal is to rally people for Janteloppet’s celebration in Hafjell – while giving back to those who build the sport from the grassroots. Together, we move cross-country skiing forward.
